It was Africa’s biggest fair for construction machinery and mining right from its inception in 2013; from September 15 to 18, 2015, Bauma Conexpo Africa will be held for the second time at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (JEC). After that, the two-yearly schedule will be changed. The organisers, MMI South Africa, Johannesburg, and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), Milwaukee, USA, have decided to slow the pace to three-yearly intervals. The result is that Bauma Conexpo Africa will not be staged again until 2018. This decision was made in close coordination with the industry both in SA and abroad, which recommends a three-yearly schedule for the African market and sub-Saharan region. (ch)
