23.09.2013 - Tourism expected to triple in Africa

In support of the recent announcement that the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) expects inbound tourism to Africa to triple by 2030, Africa Travel Week, designed to deliver the first event on the continent to combine the leisure, luxury travel and meetings industries, has been given strong backing from regional exhibitors wishing to participate in the inaugural show. Taking place in Cape Town from April 28 to May 3, 2014, Africa Travel Week expects to attract some 6,500 individuals as buyers, trade visitors or suppliers. Demand from exhibitors representing all three industry sectors is on track to achieve Reed Travel Exhibitions’ objectives to deliver the leading global event for the continent’s travel industry. Africa Travel Week will comprise three co-located shows – WTM Africa, IBTM Africa and ILTM Africa - encompassing Africa’s inbound and outbound markets for general leisure travel, luxury tourism, and the MICE/business travel sector.
