28.08.2012 - Logistics professionals concerned about safety

Safety emerged as the top priority in a sector survey conducted by easyFairs, organiser of Prologistics 2012 in Brussels. The survey further suggested that employee behavior is the main safety risk. easyFairs carried out the survey to identify the sector’s most pressing concerns ahead of its trade show staged at Brussels Expo, September 26 and 27, 2012. 259 logistics professionals and experts responded, with 37% of them naming safety as a priority. The other leading issues named by survey respondents were supply chain optimisation (32%) cost reduction (30%) warehouse processes (24%) and multimodal transport (22%). Employee behavior appears to be the main cause for safety concerns in logistics. Nearly half (43%) of respondents said they were looking for techniques to modify employee behavior with the aim of achieving a safer work environment. (wew) www.easyfairs.com
