It's all happening in Hall 1

EuroExpoEvent, German Event Day and the ADAM and EVA award ceremony are strengthening their ties. The move from the Düsseldorf conference centre to one of Messe Düsseldorf's halls is the natural next step.

After their successful initial collaboration, EuroExpoEvent, the trade fair for stand construction, design and live marketing, FAMAB, the association for direct business communication, and Messe Düsseldorf are entering the second round. On November 30 and December 1, 2006, hall 1 at Düsseldorf's exhibition venue will host both FAMAB's AGM and the 8th German Event Day with its ADAM and EVA award ceremony. The move from the convention centre, the location of earlier Event Days, will give the event more space.
The organiser explains its decision to accommodate the trade fair and events in a single exhibition hall as the consistent further development of the concept. That places the exhibitors stands at the centre of event activity this year and makes them an integral part of the programme, easily accessible for the events many visitors. In keeping with its slogan, the 8th German Event Day is to be dedicated to the culture of meeting. Messe Düsseldorf also has high expectations of the change. It is pursuing several objectives with EuroExpoEvent and its commitment as the main sponsor of the event day and the awards. "We primarily want to build on the synergies with our global lead fair EuroShop", explains Wilhelm Niedergöker, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf and expands: "The close contact with the sector that evolves from the EuroExpoEvent each year should be useful for expansion of this area in EuroShop and support a link with the event area.
For the first time this year, the trade fair is being complemented by a specialist accompanying programme, which can be used free of charge by all visitors to the tradeshow. The "topic talks" will be held on the two days of the trade fair. There will be six talks by high-calibre speakers. The future of trade marketing will be presented by Michael Gerling, managing director, EHI Retail Institute, Cologne and Marco Atzberger, head of commissioned research, EHI Retail Institute, Cologne. An insight in practising cultural diversity is promised by Nina Bratkoff, consultant and trainer for overseas assignments, World Experts, and Helmut Mink, consultant in intercultural design, World Experts, Karlsruhe, both on the first day of the fair.
"Ab in die Mitte" - successful co-operative city marketing with events is the topic presented by Eberhard Gebauer, head of city marketing and association work, Kaufhof Warenhaus AG, Cologne. Legal brand protection and the economic and communicative function of the brand are the topics of Wolfgang Schaller of law practice Breitenbach, Schaller & Michel, Stuttgart. Communication architecture is the topic explained by Jürg Steiner, Professor for Architecture, Design, Art at the University of Wuppertal and the final topic is the new anti-discrimination legislation - or the consequences of the vacancy ad: "Wanted: 25-year old female employee with a good figure (no foreigners) for reception." by Dirk Schmitz, attorney at law, Hagen.
Clearer opening times and an extended trade programme aim to ensure the success of the parallel events.
FAMAB and Messe Düsseldorf are seeking to make the EuroExpoEvent even more attractive to visitors. So this year, for the first time, universal opening times will allow visitors not attending the FAMAB events to visit the fair whenever they want. The EuroExpoEvent will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 on November 30, and from 10:00 to 16:00 on December 1. After 16:00 on December 1, the trade fair will only be open to guests of the German Event Day.
Presenting their concepts and services at the EuroExpoEvent will be exhibition and trade fair contractors, architecture and design offices, marketing and event agencies, service providers and providers of technical equipment and supplies for events. This will turn the trade show into a worthwhile information platform for all companies that exhibit at trade fairs or organise company events. Another incentive for visiting the show is provided by the accompanying specialist trade events offered on both days and included in the entry fee of 10. Visitors to the German Event Day and ADAM and EVA award ceremony and subsequent party will however have to pay an additional entrance fee. The price is EUR 175 for FAMAB members and EUR 275 for non-members. The German Event Day with its ADAM and EVA award ceremony has provided an important meeting place for the German exhibition and event industry for seven years now.
