Association policy makes climate frosty
As from 2008 IKK - International Trade Fair Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation - is switching from Nuremberg to Stuttgart. The event will be endorsed by the German refrigeration and air conditioning association VDKF at its new Stuttgart venue, with the first joint event by the IKK show management company and Messe Stuttgart taking place at the traditional autumn time slot in October 2008. Thereafter the fair will be held every two years.
However, an initiative, to which prominent exhibitors have signed up, is against the VDKF's decision to change the venue and is roundly criticising the action: "The IKK is going - we exhibitors are staying put in Nuremberg". The exhibitors are now planning their new ideal exhibition, entitled Chillventa and taking off as from 2008 in Nuremberg. With Chill standing for ‘chiller' and Venta for ‘ventilation', the newcomer's subtitle is: International Trade Fair Refrigeration, Room Air, Heat Pumps.
