The Middle Kingdom exported merchandise worth almost EUR 25 billion to Germany, such as consumer and electronic goods. For Christmas trading alone, Germany imported goods costing roughly EUR 100 million, 70 % of which were sourced from China. In return, China spent EUR 18.2 billion on machinery and high-grade products from Germany.
