Stress-free and seamless

Flourishing fairs in a recreation and entertainment resort with contented visitors, exhibitors and organisers - that's the drawing power of the Sands Venetian Macao. Wolfram Diener, vice president of the convention and exhibition sector in the Cotai Strip, speaks about the initial successes.

How long until the new Macao Exhibition Centre launches?
The Venetian will open in the middle of next year, but we want to make use of the time until everything is 100 % finished and ready in October 2007. Only then will we host the first trade fairs and exhibitions. Actually, the exhibition centre will be utilised as from March 2007 already as the biggest training and education centre in Asia, and we can then also use it to store furniture and other equipment.

What else has to be done?
Next month we'll be training our entire staff and contractors. They must all be familiar with the facilities and procedures.

Are there enough advance bookings?
Yes, 26 events have already reserved space. That's a remarkable statistic for a new exhibition venue.

What is planned for the opening?
We've got lots of exciting things in the pipeline for the opening stage - but we aren't revealing any details yet.

What service specials are planned for exhibitors and visitors?
Given that we are operating as a fully integrated resort with hotel accommodation, entertainment, a business centre and an exhibition and conference centre, we're sure to set new standards in service and facilities. The Cotai Strip Macao provides exhibition and meeting organisers and their clients with lots of different dining and entertainment amenities. Exhibitors and attendees will enjoy the fact that everything to do with their participation is completely stress-free and seamless. Many people attending an exhibition and conference will also be guests of the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. We offer a selection of restaurants and shops, and a big shopping mall. We want guests to feel good here and to have a great experience working here. After all, we want to be sure that they'll return.Interview: Christine Seizinger
