EVA award winners 2005

Jury's statement:
Here, a largely ignored and unglamorous everyday product that normally has little emotional appeal, has risen to stardom by elaborate product-focused staging. The function of lifts was playfully presented and participants given the opportunity to touch + feel, making this product presentation a good example of live communications.

BMW Motorrad 2004, Nürburgring
Jury's statement:
"Tested on the Nordschleife", an honour bestowed only on a handful of people and machines, became a byword in the company and made a real contribution to corporate feeling. Skilful use was made of the element of surprise in the presentation - everyone knew they were at the Nürburgring, but nobody knew quite where.

"Linde. 125 years of new ideas." 125th anniversary celebrations of Linde AG, Munich
Jury's statement:
This event broke away from the expectations of the guests and presented the new company Linde as contemporary and authentic. The slogan "New Ideas" ran like a thread through the event, symbolised by the "Linde-blue ribbon". It provided a link between the company's history and its future. Positive feedback from the guests proves that the message has been understood.

"Willkommen in Nubira City" ("Welome to Nubira City"), Bad Vilbel / Leipzig
Jury's statement:
Nubira City was a successful logical presentation of the product and its environment with a strong target group focus. Due to its geographical origins and the small presence on the German market of its manufacturer, the product has had a relatively exotic image until now. The special atmosphere of the event placed it in a context of likeability and conservative values. It was there to be touched.

Jury's statement:
The central topics of innovation and interaction were staged in a relevant way and the result was a haptic experience. The public was given a chance to get involved and embark on a "science adventure". The location - the AufSchalke Arena - was skilfully used to build a bridge between the region and the ThyssenKrupp global conglomerate which is headquartered there.

The brand's image was quickly rejuvenated and a young target group successfully reached. Linking the brand to the Cologne location was a clever way of promoting the region, an idea that several media have since taken up. Through multi-tracked measures it was possible to address a very heterogeneous target group with particular ease.

A brave concept! Hats off to the marketing managers for implementing it. This exhibition presentation was perfectly directed at the target group of young gamers and won them over with humour and by breaking the boundaries of the acceptable. The controversy caused among some parents and in some quarters of the press, increased the appeal for the game fans and further heightened media interest.

This event sweeps away all clichés about this target group. This time they are not wooed as consumers but their life aims are taken seriously. Their ideals are not dismissed as unrealistic; instead real solutions are offered, with the focus on integration and interaction. The idea of self-initiative recurred throughout the event like a leitmotif. The structural design matched the overall concept excellently.
