On the congress map for 82 million

The starting shot for construction work on a new conference center with considerable capacities is scheduled to be fired in Rimini Italy early next year.
The complex will be built on the premises of the Rimini Fiera on an area of more than 38,000 m2 formerly the site of exhibition halls A through D. Construction work is expected to be completed by late 2007; inauguration is scheduled in early 2008. The new complex will be able to accommodate more than 9,300 congress delegates in toto. The conference center will carry a price tag of approximately EUR 82.4 million and will essentially consist of two major complexes, which will be bright and airy owing to lots of glass paneling. The first complex with the main entrance will have three stories with a 4,000-m2 lobby facing the sea, an amphitheatre seating 1,600 spectators, ten rooms for between 35 and 200 persons as well as another 15 breakout rooms for 300 persons each. Those facilities will be complemented by a 1,000-m2 VIP restaurant area.
The second complex is annexed to its counterpart by the lobby and will house a large-sized auditorium with a total of 5,000 seats. If so required, this audimax may be subdivided in up to 10 smaller sound-proofed units. In addition, there are two auditoria for 700 listeners and a smaller one for 350 delegates. Plans provide for a total of 3,000 m2 of space for flanking exhibitions. Two underground garages will have parking space tor 1,000 motor-vehicles.
