Friendliness as a customer catcher

"Pirates ahoy" was the motto of a children's festival arranged by the Mönchengladbach marketing society MGMG for some 5,200 little buccaneers ranging in age from four to ten. Three local sponsors supported the kids fun. Last year the marketing society organised a Red Indian festival on a similar scale. The series of events sets out to contribute to family friendliness in the Mönchengladbach region.
For the party an open-air swimming pool was transformed into a pirates island, where the kids could test their skills as "terrors of the seas". Of course, a secret treasure had also been hidden on the island, waiting to be discovered. A festival highlight was the appearance of Captain Eddie One-Eye, who ascended his throne to the accompaniment of drumbeats and told the little pirates thrilling yarns from his eventful life.
