Giftex / Stationex / Jutex takes place for the 18th time from August 5 to 9, 2005 in Mumbai, India. Its organisers, the Trade & Technology Exposition Co. (India) Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, say the show is India's biggest giftware and stationery exposition.
On display in the Nehru Centre will be watches and clocks, home appliances and furnishings, thermoware, glassware, silverware, plasticware, kitchenware, cutlery and flatware, luggage and leather goods, jewellery, decorative items, lamps, promotional clothing, packaging, gifts, novelties, greeting cards, stationery and writing instruments, diaries, calendars, desk-top accessories and jute products.
Last year, 22,000 trade visitors gathered at 162 exhibitors stands on roughly 3,000 m2 exhibition space.
A seminar on the subject of "promotional gifts" is being held alongside the fair. Major new industry themes are said to be articles accompanying events, like flags, and invitation gifts for golf tournaments, horse races or cricket matches.
One of the biggest groups of buyers from the industry is the pharmaceutical sector, according to Vickram Sethi, general manager of the Trade & Technology Exposition Co. "A rule of thumb has it that pharmaceutical firms spend roughly two percent of their sales on giveaways," Vickram Sethi explains.
