19.03.2012 - dfv acquires MICE AG’s print and online media

Frankfurt - Specialist publisher Deutscher Fachverlag (dfv) is acquiring as of March 15 six print and online media from MICE AG, Berlin, after the full-service provider in the market for meetings, incentives, conventions and events (MICE) filed for insolvency at the beginning of January 2012.

The main projects acquired are the practical manuals tagungsplaner.de and rahmenprogramme.de (each with a print run of 40,000) and their eponymous websites. All the publications from the liquidated Berlin-based company’s asset pool will be integrated into the dfv’s publishing division m+a International Tradeshow Media and TW TagungsWirtschaft.

MICE AG’s media brands will be retained even under the dfv umbrella. “We also intend to evolve the online offering into interactive portals and consistently intermesh them with TW TagungsWirtschaft,” the responsible dfv publishing director Mark A. Cano explained. The agreement is subject to the approval of the Federal Cartel Office, which is being applied for directly.
